Sierra Vista sponsors free cycling event

SIERRA VISTA (Tucson News Now) - Bicyclists and everyone who likes to ride a bicycle are invited to the 5th Annual Cycle Sierra Vista on Saturday, May 18, starting at 7 a.m. 

The free event at "The Cove" parking lot in Veterans' Memorial Park will offer ride routes and other activities for adults and children.  This year's theme, "Be Cycle Savvy," will emphasize safe riding techniques and skills useful to riders of all ages and abilities. 

Activities and Schedule:

7:30 - 9:00:    Self-Directed 15- and 25-Mile Rides

7:30 - 9:30:    Police Department Bicycle Maneuver Course

7:45 & 8:15:  Health and Wellness aspects of Bicycling Presentation

8:30:              GroupRide on the 15-Mile Route with Safe-Riding Tips

9:00:             Children Safe Riding Instruction & Bike Rodeo
 

Assistance and Guidance Available:

7:30 -9:00:    Bike maintenance and fitting advice by bike shop representatives

8:00 - 9:00:    Fire Department provides helmets to children
