Early Monday morning the mayor of Phoenix, Greg Stanton, and members of the Arizona Art Alliance unveiled an exhibit at City Hall. The traveling exhibit is called, "Remembering Our Fallen." The purpose of the exhibit is to commemorate soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The art exhibit is made by veterans who have severed in our country's armed forces. The veterans who have helped with the display say art is a form of healing for them. This display will be up until Friday. The public is encouraged to come and view the art in City Hall. The art is for sale.
Some of the art are scenes from the war, while most of the art are colorful scenic views of Arizona.
During Monday's press conference, a moment of silence was observed for the veterans and for two Phoenix first responders, Brad Harper and Daryl Raetz, who died over the weekend.
