Fifteen suspects were arrested in northern Maricopa County in a human smuggling investigation led by MCSO detectives.
During Wednesday's arrests, detectives said they learned the group was from Guatemala and Mexico and had been paid up to $4,500 to be smuggled into the U.S.
The vehicle entered Arizona near Alter and Mexicali and was headed for Tennessee and North Carolina.
Seven suspects were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on class 4 felony charges related to human smuggling. The remaining eight suspects, including two unaccompanied juveniles from Guatemala, were turned over to Immigration and Custom Enforcement Agents.
