Rally at McCain's office to support immigration legislation

In a few hours, people will be rallying downtown about major immigration reform.

The group is meeting at Senator McCain's office in ‘support' of his work.

This reform has many people on board, from the left and from the right; also on board is the local chapter of Organizing for Action.  They will be meeting at the Senator's office downtown.

Senator McCain is a member of the ‘Gang of Eight' who created the proposed massive immigration overhaul.

One part of that reform would create a 13 year path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants.

This morning Organizing for Action will be rallying to support this legislation.  The group says the

‘Gang of Eight' created a strong, balanced bill and is the best opportunity to pass.  However, local groups like Derechos Humans argue against it, saying it would cost too much money and it dramatizes a war zone environment along the border.

The rally is happening at Senator McCain's office downtown, on Congress next to the Federal Courthouse, around 11:30 a.m. this morning.
