Man sentenced for second degree murder of Sells man

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Tohono O'odham man has pleadedguilty and was sentenced for the aiding and abetting second degree murder of a manfrom Sells in 2009.

Johnny Davis Antonio, Jr., 22, ofSells, Ariz., was sentenced on May 29 to ten years in prison, followed by fiveyears of supervised release, according to a news release.

Antonio pleaded guilty on March21 to beating a 37-year-old man to death. According to the release, the victimwas walking in Sells on the Tohono O'odham reservation in the early morning onAug. 10, 2009 when Antonio, who was 18 years old at the time, and an accomplice assaulted the victim with theirfists and a piece of wood.

The victim died from blunt forcetrauma to his head.
