TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A business on 29th Street has been condemned this morning after an early morning fire, according to Tucson Fire Department.

The call started with a Tucson Police unit on patrol, according to TPD the officers noticed smoke, but were unsure of the location.  TFD was called in and was able to locate the source of the smoke.

According to TFD more units were called in after the location was known, Alfies Pub in the 3900 block of E. 29th Street.  Heavy smoke was reported according to TFD, and required a hole be cut in the roof to vent the smoke.  The fire was extinguished, shortly after firefighters arrived, sometime after 1 a.m.  Firefighters remained on scene to search for hot spots.

There were no reported injuries reported by TFD to firefighters, nor was anyone found inside the business.  According to TFD it took nine units and 23 firefighters to put out the fire.

Building Safety and the Pima County Health Department were on scene after the fire was extinguished, standard procedure when a business dealing with food is involved.

The building was condemned due to extensive smoke damage, said TFD officials.
