MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Emergency personnel in Tucson responded to two near-drowning incidents over the weekend.
An 8-year-old boy is in stable condition Monday morning after a near-drowning incident at a Marana pool on Sunday.
The incident was the second near-drowning of the weekend.
The child was airlifted to University of Arizona Medical Center after he was found unconscious in the pool at the Ora Mae Harn District Park.
Northwest Firefighters say the boy was at the bottom of the pool for one to two minutes. Firefighters say the boy is awake and talking with his parents.
In the earlier incident, a 3-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after his family found him in the pool yesterday at a home in the 900 block of East Via Velitas near East Ina Road and North First Avenue. There is no word on his condition.
There have been five swimming incidents this year. One of those has been fatal.
