PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Arizona Sen. John McCain spent the weekend celebrating his son's nuptials.

His son, Jack McCain, 27, married Renee Swift, 29, in California on Saturday, John McCain's press secretary, Rachael Dean, announced on Monday.

Jack McCain is a lieutenant in the Navy stationed in Guam, where he flies MH-60S helicopters, Dean said, and Swift is a captain in the USAF reserve.

The pair met in Guam, where they were both stationed.

Jack McCain will return to Guam for another deployment after the two return from their honeymoon in Africa.

The rehearsal dinner was in the Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel on Friday night and they tied the knot on Saturday at Grace Cathedral with a reception at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.
