Three people have been arrested as the Tucson Police Department investigates an explosion inside a home on the west side.
Police got the call around 1 p.m. after a report of several explosions near West Roger and North Pomona roads. Police say the explosions were drug-related.
Tucson Police say two men and one woman, all in their early twenties, were trying to extract hash oil from marijuana using kitchen appliances and butane when the explosion occurred, which knocked out windows in the home.
One of the suspects was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tucson Police Bomb Squad and Hazmat workers were on scene. Some homes in the area were evacuated.
The three suspects were arrested on charges of conspiracy to manufacture narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and unlawful possession of marijuana for sale.
Their names are expected to be released Tuesday.
Detectives are also investigating a black car on scene.
Neighbors say they just moved in a few months ago but the home has had a lot of foot traffic.
This is still an active investigation.
