TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Pinal County Animal Care and Control officers rescued a young female dog suffering from gunshot wounds on Monday.
According to a news release, a Queensland Heeler was picked up from the southern portion of San Tan Valley, suffering from severe dehydration and gunshot wounds to her hind quarters.
Animal Care and Control Director Kaye Dickson said her office received multiple calls of a stray dog over the weekend. Even though a thorough search was conducted by officers, the dog could not be located.
Multiple calls received early Monday led to the discovery of the wounded animal.
