Drivers on Tucson's Northwest side have one more potential trouble spot to keep on their radar this week.
According to the town of Marana, Union Pacific Railroad is closing the Joiner Road railroad crossing for repairs from June 7 at noon through June 10 at noon. Joiner connects River Road to North Travel Center Drive just south of Orange Grove Road between River and I-10. It provides access to businesses along the freeway.
A spokesman for Marana says North Travel Center Drive can be accessed from the I-10 westbound frontage road at Sydney Theresa Way. If bad weather moves in, the schedule could be delayed by the Railroad without prior notice.
Drivers should head through the area with caution and be alert for construction equipment and work crews. For more information, contact RoadSafe Traffic Systems at 775-828-3433 or Ames Construction at 1-602-431-2111.
