D-M volunteers honored today for cleaning up

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Happening today, a special ceremony for volunteers from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, who are helping to keep the City streets clean.

For over seven months members of the Air Force from Davis-Monthan have been hard at work here off Kolb Road from Golf Links to Escalante, clearing the area of trash.

Members volunteered through the Tucson Clean and Beautiful 'Adopt-a-Street' program.

Today volunteers from Davis-Monthan AFB will be honored in a special ceremony.  The program will highlight these community volunteers on their commitment to remove litter and report maintenance needs at their location.

The 'Adopt-a-Street' program helps maintain hundreds of parks, streets and washes.  This ceremony marks the 279th ongoing 'Adopt-a-Street' project.

The ceremony will take place on Davis-Monthan AFB as 10:30 a.m. today.
