TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Rep. Ron Barber announced today an agreement made between the EPA and an Arizona power plant company to reduce air pollution.

The EPA has agreed to come up with another solution to help Arizona Electric Power Cooperative reduce emissions at the Apache Generating Station.

Barber has worked with the EPA and the plant in Cochise County for nearly a year to find a low-cost way to reduce the plant's emissions.

The plant is located between Benson and Willcox and supports 242 jobs and delivers power to approximately 350,000 people  in southeastern and northwestern Arizona, as well as other states in the southwest.
