TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A single vehicle collision has left amotorcyclist in critical condition at the University of Arizona Medical Center.
Witnesses say high speed was a factor inthe crash in the 5500 block of W. Overton Road on Thursday night.
Foothills District deputies found themotorcyclist just after 5 p.m. and discovered that he had numerous broken bones.He was conscious and being treated by the Mountain Vista Fire Department beforebeing transported to the hospital.
Witnesses say he was attempting to turnfrom Hartman Road to eastbound Overton Road when he hit a curb and lost controlof the vehicle. The motorcycle left the roadway and flipped for approximately 200feet before crashing through a chain-linked fence at Degrazia Elementary School.
Officials say alcohol does not appear tohave been a factor and the investigation was ongoing.
