A 40-year-old Tucson woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of stabbing her partner after the pair quarreled, police said.
Two children were inside the home at the time of the stabbing, officers said. The 44-year-old victim's name has not yet been released.
During the altercation Friday night at a home in the 2300 block of South Saddleback Avenue, the victim called a friend to come pick him up, police said. When the friend arrived, the victim began packing some belongings.
Rene Kemp, 40, went to the kitchen, picked up a steak knife and stabbed the victim in the chest before he could leave, police investigators said.
The victim struck Kemp several times after suffering the stab wound and Kemp was taken to the hospital with minor head injuries, officers said.
Kemp was booked into the Pima County Jail on one count of first-degree murder.
