We have late breaking developments in the case of a suspicious device found in the parking lot of a Marana business.
According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is now in charge of the investigation, a device discovered Sunday attached to an SUV was an improvised explosive device.
The Pima County Bomb Squad was called out to the Hooters and Bedroxx Bowling on Ina Road and used a robot to secure the device.
According to Marana Police Sgt. Jose Alvarez, the device was discovered near an SUV.
Tom Mangun of ATF said there was an improvised explosive device connected to the bottom of vehicle. The owner of the SUV saw wires hanging from his vehicle and called 911 when he saw the device.
The device is being sent to Washington, D.C. for further analysis.
The investigation continues.
