CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Adam 'Pacman' Jones has been found not guilty for assault following an incident outside a Cincinnati Bar in June.

Jones was reportedly approached by two intoxicated women outside of FB's cocktail lounge downtown on June 5. The women wanted a picture with him, and when Jones refused, one of the women threw a beer bottle at him.

Jones then allegedly slapped one of them, who police identified as 34-year-old Shannon Wesley. According to the police report, Wesley told officers Jones 'punched' her in the head, and then drove off in a black Mustang.

Judge Megan Shanahan ordered a jury trial on June 9. She also ordered Jones to stay away from the alleged victim who works at Paul Brown Stadium.

Wesley filed a motion on Thursday to get a restraining order against Jones, but the motion was denied by a magistrate, stating there had not been a pattern of behavior by Jones to justify a restraining order.

Jones said via Twitter that he was arrested for 'protecting' himself.

"Just got arrested for protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for ....," the tweet read.

"I was simply defending myself. I have two beautiful little girls and a wife at home, so why would I want to hurt a female?" Jones told FOX19 in June, just as he was released from the Hamilton County Jail.

Jones' agent Peter Schaffer said he's talked with his client and witnesses of the incident.

"This young lady is obviously intoxicated and very upset because he wouldn't take a picture with her, and he was like, 'why would I? I'm married with kids. Why would I take a picture with two intoxicated women?'" said Schaffer.

Schaffer says witnesses support Jones' explanation that he was protecting himself.

"The alleged victim was the aggressor... Threw a beer bottle and hit him in the face with a beer bottle, and Adam just responded with a quick reaction to stop it, try to stop the incident," he explained.

Jones pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance.
