PCC to host sex trafficking forum

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pima Community College will host a community forum Thursday in regards to sex trafficking in our homes, schools and community.

Our Family Services' Center for Community Dialogue will host the discussion from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Amethyst Room of the PCC Downtown Campus at 1255 N. Stone Avenue.

The college says the forum will include a discussion on vulnerabilities that children face, warning signs parents need to be aware of and prevention advice.

Tucson News Now's Heather Rowe will facilitate the discussion, and there will be presenters in attendance, including a survivor of sex trafficking and experts in the study of the topic.

For more information, contact Tucson City Council Ward Six at (520) 791-4601.

The Forest Service said Tuesday’s high winds, coupled with dry vegetation and low relative humidity – is a formula that can create massive wildfires. Like the Aspen Fire on Mt Lemmon that burned 84,000 acres in 2003.
