Hamilton Co. employees to receive raises

HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

Hamilton County employees are set to receive a pay raise.

Commissioner Greg Hartmann's Office tells FOX19 the raises will be merit-based and given by supervisors. The last time non-union county employees received one was in 2007.

The Board of Commissioners approved the performance-based raises on Wednesday.

Money for the increases will come from the county's general fund, which received higher revenue than expected.

These pay increases will take effect on June 20.

Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) will also see an increase, but that money will come from state administrative funding.

County officials say most within the JFS department have not received raises since 2009, and some have not since 2007.
