The suspect of a deadly shooting on Tucson's south side Tuesday night has been arrested in Los Angeles.
Deputies responded to a report of shots fired Tuesday night in the 4900 Block of E. Butterweed Drive, near Interstate-10 and Valencia.
Augustina Soto, 25, was found dead inside the vehicle.
Suspect Stephen Malone, 29, was apprehended in Los Angeles after homicide detectives received a tip regarding his whereabouts. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Homicide detectives have verified that Malone and Soto were in a domestic relationship and had three children together. Two of their children, ages four and five, were in the rear seat of the vehicle when the incident occurred. The children were not harmed, according to police.
He has been charged on one count of first degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Mr. Malone will remain in Los Angeles until he can be extradited back to Tucson.
