Sobriety checkpoint this weekend

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department Traffic Section, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint and impaired driving enforcement this weekend. 

Deputies say if you are impaired, stay away from operating a vehicle.  Have a plan and designate a driver!

According to the CDC, nearly 30 people in the United States die every day in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 48 minutes.

Operational funding and equipment were made available through grants awarded by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
