Sahuarita fire station to host grand opening tomorrow - Tucson News Now

Public invited to Sahuarita's first Rural/Metro fire station grand opening

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Rural/Metro Fire Department will hold the grand opening of the new Sahuarita fire station Friday.

Station #79 has been open since the end of March, but the public is invited to visit the location at 765 W. Via Rancho Sahuarita from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 14.

The fire department will host a tour, fire apparatus will be on display and the Girl and Boy Scouts of Sahuarita will assist with the dedication ceremony at 6 p.m.

Rural/Metro Fire Station 79 is the first of two Sahuarita fire stations. The 9,000 square foot building houses nine firefighters and paramedics.
