TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police have arrested the wife of the man who died Monday night after a shooting on the southeast side.

TPD responded to a 911 call about a shooting in the 10500 block of East Bridgeport.  After officers arrived they found a woman waiting outside the residence.  According to TPD the woman told officers her husband was inside the home and that he had been shot.

Officers found the man suffering from an obvious gunshot wound.  The man identified as Gregory Thacker was declared dead at the scene.

TPD Homicide detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation, by first speaking with the woman, identified as Susan Thacker, the deceased man's wife and several of the neighbors.

According to officers the two had been arguing and it escalated to Susan Thacker discharging a weapon toward her husband.  She then called 911 to report the shooting at 9:05 p.m.

Police determined that the two were the only people inside the home at the time of the incident.

Susan Thacker was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to TPD. She is currently booked into the Pima County Jail.
