ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

A man and a woman from Pennsylvania are facing drug charges after troopers seized eight ounces of cocaine, worth approximately $25,000, during a traffic stop in Lorain County.

Troopers stopped a 2000 Chevy Venture minivan for a marked lanes violation on the turnpike just before 8 p.m. on Monday in Lorain County.

While talking with the driver, troopers noticed a large rectangular object in the passenger's pants. During a patdown for weapons, troopers seized eight ounces of cocaine that he had concealed on his person.

The driver, Christy Hoffman, 34, and passenger, Robert Spates, 56, both known drug violators, were arrested. They were each charged with possession and aggravated trafficking in cocaine. If convicted, each could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
