Southwest Airlines flights grounded, internal system down

Southwest Airlines has grounded all its flights tonight due to its internal dispatch system going down.

The airline says any flights currently in the air are OK and can land but flights that have not departed are grounded, according to a Southwest spokesperson.

Southwest says the problem began around 8 p.m. and has no idea when the system will be back in operation.

Mostly west coast flights are being affected because there are no east coast flights at this time.
