TEP, Tucson Water prep crews and customers for hot temps

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The temperatures are expected to be 110 and higher on Friday and Saturday. This means residents will be looking for ways to stay cool.

Tucson Electric Power is preparing their crews and customers. During this time of the year, there's an increase in power usage, residents are trying to cool homes and offices. TEP encourages residents to not only use the AC, but to also use fans.

Tucson Water also sees an increase in water usage during the end of June. The high usage is due to swamp coolers and folks watering their plants more often. This year the most water usage was on June 12th, 129 million gallons of water was used. That day the temperature was 102. The number may seem high, but a few years ago it was even higher.
