The Tucson Unified School District is still working out the details of a contract for its future superintendent, H.T. Sanchez.
The governing board met behind closed doors Thursday until their time ran out. The public meeting was supposed to begin at 5:30 p.m. However, at 6:15 p.m. the board came out and put the meeting in recess until 4:30 p.m. Friday. Some board members committed to attend summer graduation at Rincon High School and had to be there at 6:30 p.m.
Along with the salary and duration of Dr. Sanchez's contract, the board will also vote Friday on retaining current superintendent John Pedicone as a consultant for the first two weeks of July, as well as deputy superintendent Maria Menconi, to aid with the transition.
