4-year-old boy pulled from apartment pool dies

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A 4-year-old boy rushed to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital Sunday afternoon after being pulled from the pool at Starline Apartments has died, according to investigators.

According to witnesses on the scene, the boy waded into the shallow end of the pool about 4 p.m. and went underwater for a couple of minutes.

Several people helped rescue the boy from the pool and started trying to revive him.

Shortly after, paramedics arrived and performed CPR and conducted compressions on the boy while transporting him to the hospital.

Police said the boy died Monday morning.
