Wednesday, July 3 marks one of the busiest travel days of the entire year, according to AAA.
Approximately 1.7 million Ohioians will take a trip 50 miles or more away from home this 4th of July holiday.
As a result, AAA announced their 'Know Before You Go' campaign on Tuesday, urging drivers to learn about the different traffic laws in the states they'll be traveling through.
"There have been a lot of changes with texting bans and hand-held cell phone bans in some states. Seat belt laws have changed in some states, so you need to know what the motor vehicle laws are in the states that you're traveling through so you're prepared as you and your family hit the road," explained Cheryl Parker, spokesperson for AAA.
Parker also says since gas prices are now at a five-month low, more families are traveling who weren't originally planning to.
