One Granite Mountain Hotshot was UA and PCC graduate

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

One Granite Mountain Hotshots Crew firefighter who passed away while fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire this weekend was a University of Arizona and Pima Community College graduate.

Garret Zuppiger, 27 grew up in the Phoenix area and became a Wildcat alumnus in 2008.

He graduated from the school's Eller College of Management after studying business economics and minoring in English. Zuppiger also worked at the Office of Student Computing Resources on campus, which is a resource that rents out electronics to students.

He transferred from Pima Community College in 2006.
