TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson Electric Power is reporting that only 150 homes are without power this morning, the number was 1,100 just a few hours ago.
Originally nearly 20,000 customers were without power, but crews from TEP have been working over the past several days to restore power.
According to officials with Tucson Electric Power many of those original 20,000 customers have had their power restored already.
Those living in the west Ironwood Hill area are not so lucky, according to TEP those living in that neighborhood are looking at Wednesday sometime, to have their power restored. There are 400 or so homes that should have power restored within 24 to 36 hours. TEP is stating the reason for the delay is solid rock beneath fallen power poles.
Crews for TEP found rock beneath fallen power poles, after digging down several feet. TEP officials are saying what should have been a one to two day project has now stretched to three to four days.
