Suspect in fatal Ohio hit-and-run captured

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Pike County Sheriff's Office deputies have apprehended a man who was wanted for a fatal crash that occurred last month.

Paul R. Riggs Jr., 30, of Waverly, Ohio was taken into custody on Wednesday morning in Pike County.

Riggs had been on the run since June 24, when the vehicle he was driving went left of center, killing Tina L. Ogier, 35, her unborn child and her passenger, Mary Jane E. Cooper, 19, all of Beaver, Ohio and injured a 14-year-old-male passenger.

Riggs has been transported to Pike County Sheriff's Office and will later be incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail.

He is facing three-counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one-count of aggravated vehicular assault.
