Evacuation orders for Dean Peak fire lifted

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

As of this morning, evacuation orders have been lifted at Pine Lake, Pinion Lake, and Getz Ranch.

Residents will be allowed to return to their homes.

Firefighters have made significant progress of the suppression of the Dean Peak fire. The fire is currently 65 percent contained.

Despite windy conditions, containment lines have held and officials have determined it is safe for residents to return home.

Re-entry in those areas are for residents only. They are asked to proceed with extreme caution, as firefighters and fire engines are still present in their communities.

Speed limit is restricted to 15 mph and drivers are asked to keep their headlights on.

An informational Open House will take place at Pine Lake Fire Department Station 62 from 6 p.m and 8 p.m. tonight. Residents are invited to stop in and ask questions.
