SWAT stand-off on west side comes to an end

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police say a man who barricaded himself in a west side apartment came out after a stand-off lasting around 10 hours.

Police were called to a complex near Broadway and Greasewood around 10:30 p.m. Sunday for a noise complaint.  They say while an officer was interviewing neighbors, the suspect came out of his apartment and started yelling.

Police say the suspect got into a fight with the officer, and the officer tased him.  They say the suspect got away and went back into his apartment where he barricaded himself.  Police say he was alone and armed with a knife.

SWAT officers responded and were able talk him out of his apartment around 8:45 a.m. Monday.

No names or charges have been released.  We'll continue to follow this late breaking story for updates.
