Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents seized nearly $3 million worth of drugs in three abandoned vehicles near Naco, Ariz. this weekend.
Brian A. Terry Border Patrol Station Agents discovered 334 bundles of marijuana in the vehicles Sunday with the help of detection technology. The drugs weighed around 5,200 pounds, according to officials.
Inside the vehicles, agents found a combined 334 bundles of marijuana
The narcotics, estimated to be worth approximately $2.6 million, will be turned over to the DEA. The vehicles were also seized.
According to Border Patrol, smugglers may abandon their contraband to elude apprehension and subsequent prosecution.
