The Educational Enrichment Foundation asks for public donations consisting of school supplies and new clothing for in-need Tucson Unified School District students.
The organization will accept donations at its "Stuff a Virtual Bus" event at 3809 E. Third Street on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Our mission for this event is to gather as many clothing items and school supply items for the clothing bank to stock up for school, which starts August 1," Educational Enrichment Foundation Program Coordinator Jennifer Citron said.
St. Mark's Presbyterian Church has also been taking donations at Tucson Fallas/Factory-2-U locations, Office Depot, Shoe Carnival and Chick-Fil-A at El Con since July 1.
The foundation requests the following donations: new pants, shirts, sweaters, skirts, uniforms, shorts, shoes, socks and undergarments for kindergarten through high school students.
Suggested school supplies donations include backpacks, crayons, spiral notebooks, theme books, binders, paper, pens, pencils, art supplies and personal hygiene products.
Citron says the private non-profit organization serves 53,000 TUSD students annually.
