TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations seized more than 1,800 pounds of marijuana from a Southern Arizona stash house on Monday.
The HSI-led Santa Cruz County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Investigative Task Force received information on July 8 that a Rio Rico home was being utilized as a staging area for smuggled drugs, according to a news release.
Task force members and officers from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office and the Nogales Police Department initiated surveillance of the property. The homeowner gave consent for a search of the residence, where 75 bundles of marijuana were discovered.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
