Body of young girl recovered from Connecticut River

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The body of a young girl was recovered from the Connecticut River Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the body of the young female was found approximately 500 yards downstream from where the 5-year-old girl went missing in South Hadley on Saturday around 9 p.m.  

Although presumed to be the body of the missing girl, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine positive identification in the coming days. 

The missing girl's family, who has remained in town since her disappearance Saturday, has been notified.

    Firefighters responded to some burning trailers Saturday afternoon near midtown Tucson. The flames moved from the trailers to some wooden pallets and cardboard boxes, according to a release from the Tucson Fire Department.
