Are you looking to start a career in health care?
Low-income Pima County residents who are interested in obtaining training for health care jobs are invited to an information session on Friday at the Rio Nuevo One-Stop Career Center at 340 N. Commerce Park Loop.
The Pima Community College Pathways to Healthcare Program provides:
• Assistance with tuition, fees, books and other support needs
• Opportunities to earn a college certificate or degree that prepares the recipient for employment ranging from medical office staff, nurse assistant or phlebotomist to emergency medical technician or patient care technician to licensed practical nurse or pharmacy technician.
The Pima County One-Stop Career Center is working with Pima Community College to recruit and evaluate individuals for program eligibility. The program is funded by a Health Profession Opportunity Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
To be eligible, a resident must be:
• At or below 70 percent of the Lower Living Income Standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor or
• Receiving nutritional or financial assistance from the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
Information sessions are held every Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Rio Nuevo Center.
