New temporary route for stranded Palominas residents

COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Breaking news this morning, on the damaged road in Palominas that stranded some 30 homes; the road was washed away by monsoon storms yesterday.

Residents will be using heavy machinery to try and clear an exit route on South Paloma Trail.  In the meantime there is an alternate route for the stranded residents to use. 

A local rancher was contacted and has opened a gate to the back of his property so residents can get in and out, using a route called Border Road; this new route will take residents into Naco.

Cochise County Sheriff's deputies have been checking on residents and letting them know about this alternate route.
