New temporary route for stranded Palominas residents

COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Breaking news this morning,on the damaged road in Palominas that stranded some 30 homes; the road was washedaway by monsoon storms yesterday.

Residents will be usingheavy machinery to try and clear an exit route on South Paloma Trail.  In the meantime there is an alternate route forthe stranded residents to use.

A local rancher was contactedand has opened a gate to the back of his property so residents can get in andout, using a route called Border Road; this new route will take residents intoNaco.

Cochise County Sheriff'sdeputies have been checking on residents and letting them know about thisalternate route.
