The Cochise County Sheriff's Department is investigating a plane crash near Wilcox.
It happened Saturday evening off of Third Street in San Simon about 35 miles east of Wilcox.
Deputies say upon arrival, they located a single engine aircraft inside of an orchard.
The 80 year old pilot suffered from facial injuries and was taken to UAMC.
Investigators say the pilot was flying the plane from Phoenix to Las CruCes where he was going to transfer it to a new owner.
The pilot landed the two seat plane in San Simon to refuel and upon takeoff he snagged a power line causing the plane to go down in the orchard.
The investigation is ongoing.
