PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

A North Carolina-based disaster relief group has deployed teams of volunteers in Arizona to help the wildfire victims try to recover personal memorabilia lost in the Yarnell Hill Fire.

The Christian organization Samaritan's Purse said they arrived shortly after the U.S. Forest Service reported the fire was fully contained last week.

The fire took the lives of 19 firefighters from Prescott's Granite Mountain Hotshot crew and destroyed more than 100 homes.

On Monday, volunteers began sifting through the debris to find the wildfire victims' sentimental belongings such as family photos.

The Samaritan's Purse disaster relief teams are working alongside crisis-trained chaplains from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Rapid Response Team, which has been ministering to fire victims.

The Samaritan's Purse disaster relief unit has a tractor-trailer filled with tools and supplies that serves as a command center and is based at Heights Church, located at 2121 Larry Caldwell Dr. in Prescott.
