Arizona alum Preston Guilmet ('09) came in and recorded the final out of the game as the International League beat the Pacific Coast League 4-3 in the Triple-A All-Star game in Reno, Nevada.
After the IL grabbed a 1-0 lead to open the game, the PCL came back in the bottom of the first to take the lead on an RBI single by Fresno's Brett Pill and a run-scoring ground out by Memphis' Brock Peterson.
Indianapolis' Tony Sanchez then provided the big blow in the second with a three-run home run to put the IL up 4-2.
Tucson Padres star Dean Anna ground out in two at-bats.
Arizona Wildcats closer Jason Stoffel ('09) pitched a scores fourth inning with one strikeout. Stoffel is in his first year in the Astros system after being drafted by the San Francisco Giants.
Two other Wildcats as well as two other Padres were selected to play in the game but did not appear. Tucson's Colt Hynes and Rene Rivera were both recalled to the Major Leagues in the weeks leading up to the game as was Round Rock reliever Cory Burns ('09).
Brad Mills (UA '07) was granted his release from the Texas Rangers so that he could sign with a team in Japan.
Mills was (7-5) with a 3.87 ERA in 18 appearances with Round Rock mostly as a starter but was never given a chance to contribute this season in the big leagues.
