Yee-haw! Tyler has been named the "Most Cowboy City in Texas" by the online real estate company Movoto. Longview, just 40 minutes down the road, also made the list, coming in at number five.
Movoto, a web-based company which provides a wide array of information and researhc tools to prospective home buyers, developed the rankings by looking at a range of factors, from the number of western wear stores per capita to the number of American truck dealerships per capita.
The researcher found that Tyler has the most domestic truck dealers per capita, with one dealership for every 24,125 residents. Meanwhile, Longview had the most saloons (places that serve alcohol and have the word 'saloon' in their name). Longview also placed second in the number of rodeos, with one for every 80,455 residents.
Tylerites also love their country tunes with one country radio station for every 48,250 residents, ranking them first in that category as well.
Rounding out the top ten were San Angelo, Odessa, Bryan, Amarillo, Waco, Wichita Falls, Austin and Lubbock. The study only took large cities into account.
