Suspect in May Walmart shooting due in court today

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police detectivessay a man is in custody this morning, after shooting and killing a man back inMay. 

Tucson News Now firstbrought this story to viewers about a death at a midtown Walmart, as latebreaking news.  The suspect, JeremyDavis, had been on the run for two months before being caught and putbehind bars. 

He refused to come out ofan apartment yesterday, when U.S. Marshals showed up to arrest him.  This led to a tense stand-off with TucsonPolice's SWAT team.  This was on Tucson'seast side near 22nd and Camino Seco, the stand-off ended two and half hourslater when Davis finally surrendered.

According to Tucson Police,Davis is the suspect wanted in connection to the death of a man who was shotback in May.  TPD is saying Davisallegedly got into a fight with the victim, Ricky Lomax, later shooting andkilling Lomax.   At the time of theshooting, TPD suspected it was gang related. 

Court records show thatJeremy Davis has, in the past, been arrested for drug charges.

He is expected to appearin court later this morning.
