SW Gas crews on scene to repair leak in line near midtown

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Late breaking news this morning as a gas leak was discovered near Rio Vista Elementary School, on Limberlost and Mountain.

According to Southwest Gas spokesperson Libby Howell the gas line was hit by a contractor conducting work at the school.  No other customers are affected by the break, as the leak is on a service line to the school, according to Howell.

The size of the line was small enough that residents in the area did not have to be evacuated, according to Tucson Fire officials.

South West Gas crews are on the scene working to repair the leak.
