TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church says last weekend's entire offering was stolen.

The church made the announcement in its weekly bulletin.  Church leaders say they have notified police, who are now investigating.  There is no word on how much money was taken.

Here is the full announcement:

On Monday Morning, July 29, it was discovered that the church's collection for that weekend was taken.  Police and detectives are assisting us with the theft and the investigation is ongoing, hence, the details are not being released.

We suggest parishioners notify their banks if they put a personal check in the collection for the weekend of July 27/28 and follow their bank's recommendations.  Also, if you put a check into one of our SVDP boxes during this weekend, this money was also taken.

If your donation check clears your bank, please notify Karen immediately at 219-7615.
