PHOENIX (AP) - A New York man indicted in Arizona on charges that he made Twitter death threats against two national TV commentators over their coverage of Jodi Arias is set for arraignment.
David Lee Simpson, of Bath, N.Y., faces five felony counts related to Twitter threats against Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell, both hosts on Turner Broadcasting's HLN network who regularly covered the Arias trial.
Investigators say the 48-year-old also threatened an Arizona woman via Twitter. Simpson did not yet have an attorney. His arraignment was set for Thursday morning in Phoenix.
Simpson was in New York when he sent the tweets, but Arizona asserted jurisdiction since authorities say the threats were made against individuals for conduct during their coverage of a case that was occurring in Maricopa County, and that both TV personalities were present here at times.
