This morning Pima County Sheriff's deputies are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Pima County Jail.
The inmate, identified as Robert Nelson was allowed to temporarily leave, but did not come back. He was given due process allowed to leave the jail, but now he is considered to be on the run.
PCSO deputies are now searching for him.
On Wednesday a local judge granted him temporary release, his girlfriend picked him up to go to an appointment at 7 a.m. and he was supposed to return to the jail by 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
When Nelson did not come back, he was considered an escapee.
The fugitive investigative strike team and superior court have been notified.
Nelson is awaiting trial, being held for aggravated DUI/driving with a revoked or suspended license and has a previous failure to appear from another aggravated DUI from 2012.
If you know where Nelson may be, who he may be talking to or any other information, you are asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
